Marketing Features
Things are going well at NextChapter. We continue to innovate and roll out ongoing improvements and expansions to our multiˣ suite. These are driven by customer feedback, market trends, and our own innovation initiatives. In addition, we constantly maintain the underlying technology of the platform – often unnoticed, but crucial for a stable and reliable environment.
In these release notes, you’ll find an overview of what we’ve recently been working on.
New: Launch your own app with ease
NextChapter, in collaboration with partner Reskyt, now offers an app version of your webshop.
The app is automatically generated based on your existing webshop, eliminating the need for a separate development track. This means lower costs, faster time-to-market, and easier management – making app deployment more accessible than ever. The user experience remains consistent across all channels.
A major benefit of having an app is the ability to use push notifications as part of your marketing strategy.
Additional benefits for customers and app owners include:
Customers stay logged in for 90 days by default, improving convenience.
Post-payment redirects open the correct “thank you” page in the app (via deep linking), enabling accurate tracking.
The Smart Banner feature automatically shows a prompt to “Download the app” when browsing in a mobile browser, or “Open the app” if already installed.
Content is centrally managed, but it's possible to set up app-exclusive promotions. This enables you to tailor campaigns per channel and incentivize customers to use the app.

CMS
Real-time updates for Product Collections
Product Collections allow you to group products dynamically, for use in promotions or categories.
Previously, changes within a collection required some processing time. From now on, changes are applied instantly, ensuring your display is always up-to-date.
Promotions
Test promotions in staging
It's now easier to test promotions in your staging environment before publishing. You’ll now find “test” and “live” options when configuring promotions.
Promotion limits per account
You can now set a limit for how many times a promotion can be used per customer account. Previously, limits were applied based on IP address, which wasn’t reliable for shared IPs. This new method offers a better alternative.
App-only promotions
You can now create app-exclusive promotions. These may differ from your webshop promotions, offering customers special incentives when using the app.
Frontend Features
Instore Sales Channel
The Instore channel is part of the multiˣ suite and serves as a valuable additional sales channel for retailers and brands with physical stores and an omnichannel strategy.
The Instore module runs in the browser and is designed to support and boost in-store sales.
Examples:
A customer is in-store, but the product doesn’t fit in their car. The product can be ordered via the Instore channel, paid for, and delivered directly.
A product is out of stock in-store. It can still be ordered via the Instore channel for home delivery or pickup.
The Instore channel works on desktops, laptops, and tablets.
Recent updates include:
Instore orders are now automatically visible in the “My Account” section of the webshop.
Customers can log in across channels (webshop and instore) using the same account.
You can add a splash or info page before the Instore environment loads.
Additionally, we offer the Smart Sales Assistant – a mobile app for store staff to place orders for customers. Ask your account manager for details.
New Language: Portuguese
Portuguese has been added to the suite, supporting continued international expansion.
New Payment Provider: Rabo Smart Pay
Now available in the platform, offering iDEAL, VISA, Mastercard, and Bancontact.
Content Search
You can now search through content created with the Content Editor – in addition to blogs, service pages, and category pages.
API
Transactional API – Product Bundles
The API now supports purchased product bundles – making bundles (e.g. Airfryer + accessories) visible in the order API.
Customer API – Memo Field
The Memo field is now included in the Customer API. This is a free-form field for internal or system use.
Security
NextChapter maintains a strong focus on security. Recently, all jQuery libraries have been updated to ensure safer JavaScript and protection against known vulnerabilities. We also regularly conduct penetration tests via independent external parties – with excellent results.
PIM
We’ve recently focused on the PIM system’s technical foundations, preparing it for the future. This clears the way for new PIM features, such as advanced product search and increased AI-driven functionalities.
New DAM Integration
Bynder
A brand-new integration is available with Bynder’s Digital Asset Management platform. You can now link Bynder assets directly to the NextChapter PIM.
Platform Maintenance & Performance
Every release includes behind-the-scenes platform maintenance to ensure technical stability and high performance. This includes updating or removing outdated components, upgrading underlying frameworks, improving existing code, and enforcing best practices for privacy and security.
In addition, dozens of smaller updates are rolled out continuously – too many to list individually. These touch every aspect of the suite: features, data flows, processes, interfaces, and more.
Bug-Free Platform
Any bugs or issues are resolved immediately. As a result, the NextChapter platform is fully bug-free.
