Release Notes October 2026

Menno Hoek -

The NextChapter eCommerce platform is constantly being improved and innovated. In the October 2026 release notes, we have again listed a number of important improvements & optimizations for you.

We are also continuously working on product development. Keep an eye on our blog, LinkedIn page and newsletter so that you don't miss any of our new developments. Want to know more about the release notes or their implementation in your webshop(s) and channels? Feel free to contact us.

We have done a lot of innovations in the past few months in various areas, such as:

1. multiˣ suite
2. Storefront features
3. CMS features
4. OMS features

multiˣ suite

One login for all products in the multix suite

The NextChapter multix suite is a complete e-commerce suite containing all core e-commerce modules. As a user, that is nothing new to you.

What is new is that all NextChapter modules you use are now accessible through one single login.

Where you previously used different login credentials for, for example, PIM and the CMS, you can now access everything with the same account.

Using the switch in the top-right corner, you can easily switch between the different products: CMS, OMS, CRM or PIM.

From now on, the Customers section is no longer available under the Order Management tab, but can be accessed through the CRM product.

Storefront features

Renewed data layer

For every webshop, it is essential to have clear insight into webshop activity through Google Analytics 4. To track all events correctly, all webshops use the NextChapter data layer.

NextChapter has launched a new data layer, allowing events to be tracked more accurately and ensuring compliance with the latest Google requirements. The most important events are already available, with additional optional events being added gradually.

Would you like to use the new data layer? Please contact your account manager.

We will first make the data layer available in your test environment, allowing you or your marketing partner to prepare the implementation. At an agreed moment, we will deactivate the old data layer and tracking will continue solely based on events from the new data layer.

Shopping cart notification for duplicate products

To help reduce returns and increase awareness around returns, you can now display a notification in the shopping cart such as: “Please note: you have two sizes/variants of the same product in your cart.”

Many shoppers order two sizes of the same product to make sure one of them fits. For the webshop, this almost guarantees a return.

This notification has been introduced to help reduce the likelihood of returns.

Autosuggest: search by EAN and article number

Within the Autosuggest Search functionality, users can now also search by article number and EAN, in addition to the existing search functionality across categories and attributes.

Storefront CSS updates instantly visible

Webshop owners regularly make changes to their webshops, which also means that NextChapter frequently makes smaller or larger updates to webshop styling.

Previously, after certain updates, users sometimes had to clear the cache or press F5 to see the latest version of a CSS change.

This is now automated. Changes are immediately visible and no longer require any manual action.

Apple Pay via Mollie PSP

Webshops using payment provider Mollie can now also offer Apple Pay.

This functionality was already available for webshops using payment provider Buckaroo.

CMS features

More video extensions in the content editor

The content editor gives you full freedom to build pages using text, images and videos.

Previously, videos had to be hosted on YouTube or Vimeo. Videos can now be hosted on any platform, provided they use one of the following formats: .mp4, .webm, .mov or .m4v.

Marketing features

Server-Side Tracking (SST) providers

In addition to Trytagging, which was already available, TAGGRS and Stape.io have recently been added as server-side tracking providers.

CartID in data layer + Order API

The CartID has been added as a data layer event and has also been added to the Order API.

This makes it easier for marketing partners to match orders and perform more accurate measurements.

OMS features

Order allocation expanded for European use

Order allocation is advanced logic in which orders, or parts of orders, are assigned to one or more stock locations that fulfil the products, such as warehouses or stores. This is done based on advanced business logic.

The order allocation module has now been further expanded to support use across Europe.

The country in which the package is delivered can now be taken into account.

Order allocation can consist of different business rules. Within these business rules, the destination country can now be included.

For example, a business rule may state that as many products as possible within one order should be shipped from a single location. The system will first look for a suitable location within the country of delivery, for example Germany.

If no match is found, the allocation process moves to the next business rule, such as splitting the order. Again, the system will first look within the country of delivery, and so on.

This is useful for webshops with multiple stores or stock locations across different countries.

It makes order allocation scalable across Europe.

Marketplace channels

Through the integration with ChannelEngine, NextChapter now also supports the German marketplace Galerie Kaufhof.

API

GET form submissions endpoints

It is now possible to retrieve submitted form data through the NextChapter API.

Variant ID in Order API

It is now possible to retrieve submitted form data through the NextChapter API.

Customer-specific pricing API: additional content

The existing customer-specific pricing API can now also include additional customer-specific content.

Connector

It’s Perfect ERP connectors

NextChapter has upgraded all e-commerce integrations with the It’s Perfect ERP system to the latest version.

At the same time, these integrations have been implemented within the NextChapter multix connector, making the connectors and integrations visible to our customers as well.

ASPOS POS connectors

NextChapter has done the same for all e-commerce integrations with the ASPOS POS system.

These have also been implemented within the NextChapter multix connector.

Within the Connector, we build individual system connectors. These connectors handle the exchange of data between your systems and NextChapter, such as product and inventory data from the ERP system.
